Shaq Jack

Shaq Jack was part of my initial pitch to Shaq with the company & I'm proud to see it through from concept to a playable game.

Shaq Jack chronicles the big guy's basketball career from the street all the way to his mansion. I helped design the unique game play & the Bonus Game.

The collectible cards are a fan favorite as players can collect the many personalies Shaq has created over the years!

The Street

It all started from humble beginnings. Journey through the NBA with Shaq by playing from the street to Shaq owning the Sacramento Kings.

The line drawing was designed as a way to immerse the players into the 'world', making it feel less like a blackjack table and more like a mini world with collectable items. From concept sketch, rough painting to final in-game image.

Blackjack Lobby

Inside the main lobby players can choose to play from a range of games, Shaq Jack has it's own special game play. Once inside the Shaq Jack menu, players can play and unlock more rooms based on Shaquille's career.

Face Cards

The Face cards were pretty straight forward, Shaq as the King, Cheerleaders as the Queens and Mr. Basketball as the Jack. Each design represents a moment in Shaq's career.

Collectible Characters

Shaq has a wide range of personas it was an absolute blast creating each one. Listed in order: Officer O'neal, Kazaam, Dr. O'neal, Shamrock Shaq, Super Shaq, Shaq Daddy, The Big Aristotle, Shaqtus, The Diesel and Shaqfu.

Team Logo Redesigns

One of the major challenges working on Shaq jack was redesigning NBA team logos. We were not certain we could even use the same colors and knew for certain the team state or city could not be combined with the logo in any fashion.

3D Shader Packets

I assisted the 3D team by identifying each unique court wood to match the real world teams floorboards. I mocked up a design for each team room, providing a guideline for logo placement and color swatches.

Original Game Pitch

I created the Shaq Jack Game design for the company pitch, which was selected by Shaquille to be developed further. There was so much opportunity to include his basketball legacy and fun personalities with this design I had to deliver a fun game that fans would all enjoy and keep coming back for.
